AATG Week of Giving
AATG Week of Giving
Join us in celebrating AATG's Week of Giving! Here's a sneak peek of our upcoming week of activities and challenges.
Monday, November 18, 2024 is for the Friends of AATG! On this day during the AATG Week of Giving, please consider giving increments of 1926, the year AATG was founded. $19,26 might feel like a good starting point if you have never been able to donate before. $192.60 or $1,926 are amounts that increase our endowment to support student scholarships. Your contribution empowers future generations of students to study, learn, and engage in the transatlantic relationship between the US and the German-speaking world.
Tuesday, November 19, 2024 is our Matching Challenge! A generous group of AATG members will give $20,000 in matching funds for donations made during this campaign. No matter how small, and no matter which fund you support, your contribution makes a difference in the lives of our students and educators. If 200 members donated $100, the fall fundraiser would have reached its minimum goal of $40,000. So don't delay and donate today! Please consider donating as generously as you can so that we can meet this challenge! For larger gifts and planned giving, please contact Executive Director Mike Shaughnessy at mike@aatg.org. Outright gifts, bequests, and transfers are deductible for federal estate and tax gift purposes.
Wednesday, November 20th is for sharing the AATG Week of Giving with friends, family, and colleagues! Spread the word about AATG Week of Giving by encouraging your family, friends, and colleagues on Facebook to get involved! It’s easy to set up your own Fundraiser in honor of your birthday, anniversary, or any other personal or professional milestone! There are only two steps! 1. Go to https://www.facebook.com/fundraisers and select American Association of Teachers of German from the nonprofit search menu. 2. In your fundraising post, share why you give to support German!
Thursday, November 21st is our day dedicated to thanking our AATG Life Members and Planned Giving Donors. AATG Life Members invest in themselves and their profession by contributing $1,926 to the Life Member Fund. Their commitment ensures a sustainable future for the AATG and grants them all of the regular member benefits for life. Planned Giving means that you leave a portion of your estate to a particular cause that matters to you. The AATG will always be there to support German, so your legacy is secure. Fill out a non-binding bequest letter today.
Friday, November 22nd is Friends and Family Five Dollar Day. We encourage you to reach out to your family and friends to ask them to support German by pledging $5. Five Dollar Friday represents the impact one donation can make, no matter how big or small. Donate $5 today!
Saturday, November 23 is our chance to express gratitude to those who inspire us to teach or learn German. The Hall of Recognition celebrates those who have influenced, mentored, and inspired. Each honoree's name is listed in the online Hall of Recognition, along with a photo and a personal tribute. AATG’s Hall of Recognition status occurs when the donations in honor of an individual reach $1500. Donations may be dedicated to any fund to support German.
