The Metzler-Mews Conference Travel Fund is designed to support German educators, with a special focus on teachers who do not have access to travel and/or professional development funding through their institution. This includes K-12 teachers, college faculty, part-time German teachers, teachers at Samstagsschulen, etc. Additional funding opportunities will be announced in early February.
To celebrate 100 years of AATG in 2026, funding through the Endowed Professional Development Grant for 2026 will be reserved for current members attending the 2026 Conference AATG@100: Forging the Future in Boston, MA. AATG members planning to attend the conference may apply for one of eight (8) grants covering up to $1000 of eligible travel, registration, and lodging costs. Applicants do not need to give a presentation at the conference to be eligible to apply for this funding; attending for the purpose of professional development and networking is sufficient as well.
The AATG and AATF will make content-based decisions for panels in their respective areas (i.e. French and German Language). The AATG’s conference committee will organize the paper solicitation and evaluation for all German-Language proposals.
The Call for Papers is available here. Proposals are due by December 15, 2025.
Unfortunately, we will not offer any pre-conference workshops this year.
Yes! Bring your family and enjoy all that Boston has to offer in the summertime.
The Westin Copley Place is located directly across from the BackBay Acela station connecting Boston-Washington DC and points in-between. It’s near restaurants, cafés, German and French cultural centers and of course a Trader Joe’s!
The AATG and AATF will mutually support each other in the planning process to benefit both organizations. We hope to offer shared coffee breaks, exhibit hall breaks, and social networking opportunities.
