Summer Study Program Scholarships
1. Audre Lorde Scholarship for High School Students
This full scholarship will be awarded to one African American, Hispanic, Native American student, or a student from another underrepresented group, to participate in the Summer Study Program for High School Students. Learn more here.

2. Käthe Wilson Honor Society Scholarship
This scholarship funds student participation in AATG’s summer study program for a member of the German Honor Society. Learn more here.

3. The Halle Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship provides funding for students who are currently enrolled at a High School located in the state of Georgia. Ten full scholarships will be awarded annually through 2027. Learn more here.
These scholarships are funded by a grant from The Halle Foundation.
4. AATG Endowed Fund Scholarships
Scholarships of up to 50% of the program cost are available to students whose financial need merits such support.
These scholarships are funded by the AATG Endowed Scholarship Fund. It was established in 1997 to support study abroad in German-speaking countries for students. Find out more about the recipients of the Endowed Scholarship and their experiences in Germany.
Eligibility for All Scholarships
- You must have submitted your initial application materials for the AATG German Summer Study Program.
- Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need and criteria set out by individual scholarships.
- Students are encouraged to indicate that they qualify for multiple scholarships but may only be awarded one full scholarship.
Scholarship Application Materials include:
- Scholarship Application completed by student and parent/guardian. You can preview the application here.
- Photocopy of parent or guardian’s most recent Federal Income Tax Return showing adjusted gross income, or other proof‐of‐income documents if no return was filed
- Scholarship Recommendation Form completed by a teacher. The recommendation form can be previewed here
Applications will be available in mid-October.

Application Deadline: December 15, 2024
Notification of Award
Scholarship applications will be reviewed by a scholarship committee. Early application is advised. Applicants will be notified of the scholarship decisions in late January. If prepayment has been made, the scholarship recipient’s accounts will be credited at the time of final billing.
Please note: All program participants are required to pay the non-refundable administrative fee of $150, regardless of scholarship status.
