LiP 2027 Conference in Vienna

LiP2027 – Language is Plural: Celebrating Multilingualism in Language Education

will take place in Vienna from 26 to 29 July 2027 and will bring together two major international events:

the FIPLV World Congress and the International Delegates’ Conference of the IDV, which will take place from 26 to 28 July 2027.

The IDV Assembly of Delegates will be held on 29 July 2027.

The conference will focus on multilingualism as a social reality and as a central concern of language education. LiP2027 invites language teachers, researchers, practitioners and representatives of language teacher associations from around the world to engage in multilingual exchange on current issues in language learning, language didactics, educational equity and language policy.

The conference is organised on behalf of the IDV and FIPLV by the Austrian Association for German as a Foreign/Second Language (ÖDaF), in cooperation with the University of Vienna. As a multilingual international conference, LiP2027 makes a strong statement in favour of recognising, promoting and valuing linguistic diversity in education and society.

findet vom 26. bis 29. Juli 2027 in Wien statt und verbindet zwei internationale Fachveranstaltungen:

den FIPLV World Congress und die Internationale Delegiertenkonferenz des IDV von 26. bis 28. Juli 2027.

Am 29. Juli 2027 findet die Vertreter*innenversammlung des IDV statt.

Im Mittelpunkt der Konferenz steht Mehrsprachigkeit als gesellschaftliche Realität und zentrale Aufgabe sprachlicher Bildung. LiP2027 lädt Sprachlehrende, Wissenschaftler*innen, Praktiker*innen und Vertreter*innen von Sprachlehrer*innenverbänden aus aller Welt ein, sich über aktuelle Fragen des Sprachenlernens, der Sprachdidaktik, der Bildungsgerechtigkeit und der Sprachenpolitik mehrsprachig auszutauschen.

Die Konferenz wird im Auftrag des IDV und des FIPLV vom Österreichischen Verband für Deutsch als Fremdsprache/Zweitsprache (ÖDaF) in Kooperation mit der Universität Wien veranstaltet. Als mehrsprachige internationale Tagung setzt LiP2027 ein starkes Zeichen für die Anerkennung, Förderung und Wertschätzung sprachlicher Vielfalt in Bildung und Gesellschaft.
