College students looking for the opportunity to gain work experience in Germany can now apply for a summer internship through the AATG Internship Program. Internships are available in a wide variety of fields, including social services, agriculture, medicine, business, childcare, and engineering.
Eligibility. Undergraduates who have at least Intermediate Mid German proficiency and meet all other internship-specific requirements are eligible to apply. See the ACTFL Profiency Guidelines for information on language proficiency ratings. Participants must be between the ages of 18 and 30 at time of departure. Graduating seniors are not eligible to apply.
Internship Duration. 3 months.
Internship Program Cost is $2,000. The costs include the application fee and fees for placement, housing, work authorization, and residency permit application. Students must also have a minimum reserve of $1,500 at the time of departure to pay for personal expenses during their stay.
Internship Compensation. All internships provide compensation in the form of a salary or room and board. Salaries are paid monthly and depend on the particular internship. See specific internship listings below for salary information. Unless otherwise noted, room and board are not included in compensation.
