Die Unterrichtspraxis/Teaching German Special Issue
Teaching German Studies in a Global Context

Die Unterrichtspraxis/Teaching German  is now accepting contributions for its Fall 2019 special issue (52.2): Teaching German Studies in a Global Context.

This issue seeks contributions that explore what it means to teach German Studies in a global context. Topics might include:

  • The theoretical and pragmatic justifications for a “global” turn in the teaching of German Studies
  • The opportunities and challenges posed by globalizing undergraduate and graduate courses and curricula
  • The teaching of migration and exophonic writers as related to concepts of Germanness and German culture
  • The training of graduate students to understand the global aspects of German Studies while preparing them for academic and non‐academic careers
  • Examples of undergraduate or graduate lessons, courses, or curricula that situate the teaching of the global within the teaching of German Studies
