Why did you first start learning German?
Honestly, I learned German at first to be like my sisters and to be able to speak German with them. Afterwards, because I was fascinated by the language and how it worked - the sentence structure and the similarities to the English language, but then the differences too!

What did you get out of your German studies?
A second language, an appreciation for other cultures, and an opportunity through study abroad to experience the culture I was fascinated with firsthand.

What influence did German have on your career choices?
Having learned the language and experienced it "live," I didn't want to return, as I had begun to grow roots here in Germany. So I decided to take my language skills and use them to develop further skills through a German traineeship for Assistant Management for International and Wholesale Trade.

How do you use German today at home or in your work?
I use German every single day at my office, where I work as a financial accountant, and in my private life with my friends that I have made here and my general daily life in Germany.
