Over 20,000 high school students across the country participated in this year’s National German Exam. Score reports were sent to teachers via email on February 13. Teachers received a National German Exam Results Report, a detailed Skills Report, and Individual Student Reports—in a printable format.

The Results Report includes student raw scores as well as percentile rankings, which indicate the performance of each individual student in comparison to all students who took the National German Exam across the US. The achievement level for each student’s performance and whether or not they qualify for the Study Trip Award are also included. The Skills Report provides information on how students performed on specific question types, such as identifying main ideas, comprehending idiomatic expressions, and making inferences. This report is provided to help teachers better understand where their students did well and where students may need more instruction.

8,927 Level 2 exams were administered this year. 6,606 students took the Level 3 exam and 4,928 students participated at Level 4. The number of students participating in 2015 was almost identical to the overall exam volume in 2014. Students enrolled in public schools continue to account for over 81% of all exams. Private schools took 14% of the exams and students enrolled in Saturday schools accounted for 5% of the total exam volume.

Teachers who have not yet received their scores should contact AATG staff at 856-795-5553 for assistance.
