Adrian P. Kendall received the Friend of German Award at the AATG’s recent meeting in Orlando. This award recognizes exemplary leadership in the advocacy of German and German language education.

Adrian P. Kendall leads a commercial transactions practice in Portland, Maine and functions as legal counsel to national and international companies. As Honorary Consul for Maine and New Hampshire for the Federal Republic of Germany he advises governors of both states on trade missions to Germany and other European countries. He regularly speaks at seminars on international trade, and the BBC World Service has interviewed him on terrorism and criminal justice.

Mr. Kendall uses his German language skills and cultural insights to advise clients on both international law and issues in global business.  A tireless advocate for German, he supports Deutsche Woche in Bar Harbor, attends AATG meetings, talks to students about language study, and is quick to aid any K-16 German program in peril. Adrian Kendall has been instrumental in connecting teachers of German with native speakers. His Facebook page, the Maine German-American Society, has developed into a regular face-to-face Stammtisch
