The Global Online Distance Education Network (GOLDEN), at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, offers graduate level courses specifically designed for the German language teacher. GOLDEN German courses are completely online and are oriented toward putting theory into practice.

In the Spring 2019 semester, the course Instructional Planning for German Teachers will be offered. Classes begin January 7, 2019. Topics covered include language acquisition theory, communicative language teaching, implementing World Readiness Standards for Learning Languages in the classroom, the three modes of communication, backward design, goal setting, assessment, instructional sequencing, and planning lessons with vocabulary, grammar and intercultural communicative competence in mind.

Individuals not officially enrolled in the GOLDEN MA program may take individual GOLDEN courses as desired. The course description and more information can be found here.
