Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) Scholarship to Germany

CBYX is a year-long study abroad scholarship program for high school students to experience German culture and language first-hand, while living with a host family and gaining leadership skills.

CBYX is a U.S. Department of State funded exchange program for motivated students who would like to gain new perspectives on global current affairs, as well as a deeper understanding of another culture. Initiated in 1983, CBYX was created to strengthen ties between Germany and the United States through citizen diplomacy. Students learn the German language through introductory lessons and immersion at school and at home, and make friendships that last a lifetime. Additionally, participants gain a greater sense of independence, empowerment, and global citizenry: all values are critical for establishing a successful career path. Over 24,000 students from all backgrounds have prepared themselves for success in an increasingly global world by participating in the CBYX program.
