Deutsche Woche in Bar Harbor, ME - 2012

Everyone should begin the new school year refreshed and energized with new ideas, and the immersion program Deutsche Woche Bar Harbor is the place to do that! Mark your calendars for this summer: Deutsche Woche in Bar Harbor will take place during the first week of August 2012 and the topic will be “Using Film in the Classroom”, featuring University of Maine’s Gisela Hoecherl-Alden.

2012 CARLA Summer Institutes

The Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition (CARLA) at the University of Minnesota has sponsored a summer institute program for second language teachers since 1996. These internationally-known institutes reflect CARLA's commitment to link research and theory with practical applications for the classroom.

June 12-23, 2012 - Fulbright German Studies Seminar

The Fulbright Commission in Berlin is pleased to announce the German Studies Seminar 2012 for U.S. Scholars at American Universities and Colleges

The 2012 seminar will take place from June 12 - 23, 2012, in Germany and focus on "Nation-State and European Identity” and be conducted in English.

Summer Seminar 2012 at Georg-August-University of Göttingen

German Department of the Georg-August-University of Göttingen hosts a summer seminar 2012.

The training will take place in August of this year. The main topic of lectures and seminars will be the intercultural aspects of teaching and learning German as a foreign language. The program would be suitable for university lecturers as well as school teachers of German.

Checkpoint Charlie Foundation - Berlin Seminar 2012

July 2012 - Davidson College Summer Institute

Located on the beautiful campus of Davidson College, NC, the Davidson College Summer Institute for German Teachers offers a convenient, affordable, and intellectually stimulating summer format for middle and high school teachers to increase their mastery of German and knowledge of Germanic literatures and cultures while earning teaching certificate renewal credits (one Davidson undergraduate course credit, equivalent to four semester hours). $400 covers everything, incl. registration and transcript fees, room and board.
