Planned giving is a way of supporting the AATG that enables philanthropic individuals or donors to make larger gifts than they could make from their income. Putting AATG in your will helps ensure the future of the organization which has served you during your career. It is a simple way to articulate your wishes to support the AATG.
One of the easiest ways to provide a gift is through a provision in your will to leave a specific amount of money, a specific asset such as stocks, bonds, works of art, or real estate, or a percentage of your estate to the AATG. It’s simple to do. A bequest is a provision that anyone can make. Consult with your attorney about the inclusion of a provision in your will to support the AATG. Include a statement bequeathing some of your estate to the AATG.
I hereby give, devise, and bequeath to the American Association Teachers of German, Inc., a nonprofit corporation organized and operating under the laws of the State of New Jersey, the sum of $____ (or ___ % of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate), to be used for general purpose of the Association.
Any gifts to AATG are used to carry out the many services and programs of the association. Unrestricted support is the most flexible and therefore the most helpful, although your bequest may be for a stated purpose such as the AATG Endowed Scholarship Fund, Friends of AATG Endowment, or an AATG program of special interest to you.
Please consider this form of support for the AATG now — for the future.
Like me, you are a faithful member of the American Association of Teachers of German. Like me, you certainly also know the true value of our organization and the myriad ways in which it seeks to strengthen the teaching and learning of German in the USA. You may not be able to support the organization at this time, but putting AATG in your will now may be your best choice in ensuring the future of the organization you have worked with and which has served you so well during your career.
Although I am a mother of three and grandmother of seven, I have made room in my will for AATG. As I look back over my years as a German teacher, there was no time when AATG did not play an important role in my life. Since AATG has been such a big part of my life, it is only right that part of what I leave behind be shared with AATG.
We are passionate about the teaching and study of German. Our mutual interest in the German language and culture brought us together as husband and wife. When we think about the important things which have defined our lives, we list three things: our families, our church, and our avocation—teaching German. We want to make sure that teachers of German have professional support and that students of German have a chance to go abroad to get enthused about continuing their study of German and more importantly, to broaden their understanding of the world. From the AATG we have received much to support our calling; we would like to give back.
