Session Title: Children's and Young Adult Literature in the German Class
Session Description: How can the world language instructor best integrate presentational, interpretive and interpersonal modes when using authentic children’s and/or youth literature in the curriculum? How do instructors create lifelong learners who use the target language for enjoyment, enrichment, and advancement? This session invites proposals promoting the use of DACHL literature by engaging learners with reading, listening, and viewing media created for children and youth in German-speaking countries giving preference to contemporary materials.
