AATG Planned Sessions for ACTFL 2014

The AATG Annual Meeting Program Committee has organized a number of planned sessions for the 2014 Convention to showcase and inspire the innovative and resourceful teaching of our profession. Members interested in presenting in these sessions are invited to submit abstracts (250 words) to individual session chairs by December 20, 2013.


Planned sessions are organized in four focus areas:

Planning for the Learner

Focus on 21st Century skills, instructional design, curriculum, horizontal and vertical articulation, national standards, resources and learner variables.

Learning and Teaching

Focus on instructional strategies, immersion, use of the target language, cultural competence, authentic materials, learning tasks, innovation in the classroom, and project-based learning.

Assessment

Focus on performance and proficiency testing, classroom-based action research, assessment practices, educator effectiveness and proficiency targets.

Collaboration
Focus on professional issues from language advocacy, international partnerships and projects, study abroad, and stakeholder engagement.
