Long winter got you feeling a little blue? Have you endured the endless snow storms and bitter cold with a good book? Ready to unleash some creative energy? Enter our Fake Tweets from Famous German Authors Contest.

Who's your favorite German author? Goethe? Schiller? Kafka? Schnitzler? Rilke? Kästner? Seghers? Hesse? Dürrenmatt? Wolf? Brecht? Ever wonder how they would have reacted to the 21st century? What clever words would they share -- in 140 characters or less?

You can enter our Tweet contest--your students can, too! Submit entries online at -- in German or English -- any time before Monday, March 23. Enter our #WashätteGoethegetwittert Contest as many times as you wish.

Between March 24 and midnight March 31, return to our site to vote for your favorite entry. On April 1 we'll announce the top ten Fake Tweets from Famous German Authors on Twitter using #AATGAprilscherz. Join the fun -- you might win a prize!
