The German-American Hall of Fame (GAMHOF) Board of Trustees is pleased to announce their 2014 Student Scholarship Essay Contest.

With separate competitions for college and high school students, the essay contest will offer cash awards totaling $3,500 for the winning students in 2014. The two first-prize winners will take home $1,000, with runners-up winning $500 each, and third-place winners earning $250 each.

Applicants are requested to write an essay about the impact of German immigrants and German-Americans on one of the 50 US states. Applicants do not have to write about their own home states. Visit www.gamhof.org for more details and to access the GAMHOF Student Scholarship Essay Contest application. The deadline for all applications is July 31, 2014.

The mission of the German-American Hall of Fame is to highlight the contributions of outstanding Americans of German ancestry, underscoring the tremendous positive impact of America's largest immigrant group.
