Registration is open! The second Northern Illinois German
College Immersion Day with the title Deutschsprachiges Europa: nicht nur für Touristen is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at
The day will include interactive language and
culture workshops on selected places in German-speaking Europe with a focus on
facets that are likely to be beyond the tourist path. Explore Köln, Weimar,
Freiburg, Saarbrücken, Rügen, Schwerin, Frankfurt an der Oder, Wien, Bremen,
Basel and many other intriguing places, including border cities and
multilingual spaces! There will be a study abroad panel, music, German-style
food, films, and fun prizes and activities. College students at all levels of
German are welcome!
Presenters include members of the Northern Illinois
AATG, representatives of the National AATG and the Goethe-Institut Chicago,
guests from national and international organizations, and students. If you are
interested in attending, contributing or helping out during the day, please contact Ingrid Zeller.
Special guest presenter will be National AATG
President Mohamed Esa, who will be giving a session on Köln ist einfach korrekt featuring the song with the same name by the Wise Guys.
The fee will be $10.00 per student. Please register
