Adrian P. Kendall received the Friend of German
Award at the AATG’s recent meeting in Orlando. This award recognizes
exemplary leadership in the advocacy of German and German language education.
Adrian P. Kendall leads a commercial transactions practice in Portland,
Maine and functions as legal counsel to national and international companies.
As Honorary Consul for Maine and New Hampshire for the Federal Republic of
Germany he advises governors of both states on trade missions to Germany and
other European countries. He regularly speaks at seminars on international
trade, and the BBC World Service has interviewed him on terrorism and criminal
Mr. Kendall uses
his German language skills and cultural insights to advise clients on both
international law and issues in global business. A
tireless advocate for German, he supports Deutsche Woche in Bar Harbor, attends AATG meetings, talks to students about language study, and
is quick to aid any K-16 German program in peril. Adrian Kendall has been
instrumental in connecting teachers of German with native speakers. His
Facebook page, the Maine German-American Society, has developed into a regular face-to-face Stammtisch.
