Waldsee German Language Village
Waldsee celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2010 with übercool immersion adventures in German language and culture for youth ages 6-18, as well as families and adults. Tempt your taste buds with Wiener Schnitzel, Kaiserschmarrn, or Schokolade Fondue; use German to withdraw Euros at the Bank; try activities like pottery, soccer, giant chess, stained glass making, painting, fencing, and archery; or join in German-style pizza contests at our outdoor Backofen. Modern European Musik rocks the Haus! Swimming, biking and canoeing are all great options auf Deutsch. Whether you are searching for Piraten, celebrating Karneval or Oktoberfest or climbing our floating Eisberg, you’ll discover a whole new world of immersion learning at Waldsee. Learn to be a Ritter (knight) with der Märchenwald, Waldsee's "Forest of Legends;" explore nature and cutting edge environmental techniques with die Grüne Welle; join a villager-produced play with das Stadttheater; hone your reading and writing skills with die Kollegstufe; be a D.J. for Waldsee’s own German-language Radio Waldsee. Live in Black Forest-style cabins in the Minnesota Northwoods and learn about new age living in the ultracomfortable, super energy-efficient Waldsee BioHaus, the first certified Passivhaus in North America. At Waldsee, you’ll learn German by living it – naturally and with confidence. Come for 1, 2, or 4 week programs. Are you in high school? You can earn a year’s worth of German in four weeks in our high school and college credit programs. Become a Lehrling (apprentice), learning German half-time in regular Waldsee learning groups and working half-time auf Deutsch in community projects like bakery and kitchen; carpentry; store, bank and café; gardening/green roof; music; technology/webblogging; art and photography; science and environmental studies. Waldsee is one of 15 different Language Villages sponsored by Concordia Language Villages.

Fairview-Clifton German Language School (Cincinnati, OH)
The pupils, parents, and staff of Fairview-Clifton German Language School continue to maintain, expand, and improve our quality program, while meeting the increasing demands of state and local mandates. Fairview-Clifton has been designated an Achieving School. Attempts to achieve state- and district-wide consistency in the implementation of new curricula, as well as ever-higher test score requirements, underscore the need for our German instruction to support and supplement the general elementary curriculum. We have moved into a new buidling in a new neighborhood, but continue with our unique and successful language and academic program. Students recently spent three weeks in Germany, and we look forward to the upcoming visit from the German students we visited.
