AATG has a category that's just right for you

  • Regular member - teacher or administrator with full-time employment - $80
  • New teacher member - teacher during the first 3 years of teaching - $35
  • Part-time employment member - teacher teaching fewer than three classes - $35
  • Temporarily unemployed membership - unemployed teacher  - $35
  • Student membership - full-time student - $25
  • Emeritus membership - retiree who was an AATG member prior to retirement - $30
  • Joint membership - two people sharing the same household - $10 in addition to dues in another member category
  • Contributing member - member who contributes - $150
  • Sustaining member - member who contributes - $200
  • Patron member - member who generously contributes - $250 or more
  • Life membership - receive full member benefits forever - $1,500

International members pay extra postage charges of $25 for printed newsletter and $35 for printed German Quarterly.

Membership is valid from from January 1 to December 31.

Institutional Membership

For $1000, your entire teaching staff can receive full membership with electronic access to our publications (the newsletters and The German Quarterly). We will in turn advertise your school’s name, direct link and logo on our Web site and in our newsletter.

American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL)

$75 for regular membership, $35 for new and part-time teachers, and $25 for full-time students.

ACTFL is a national organization dedicated to the improvement and expansion of the teaching and learning of all languages at all levels of instruction.

Membership Support Fund

Support membership for teachers in temporary situations making it difficult to afford it.

Joint National Committee for Languages/National Council for Languages and International Studies (JNCL/NCLIS) Contribution

JNCL is a policy organization, which develops national language policies and identifies national needs in this area. NCLIS is the political action and advocacy arm of JNCL. Visit them on the web at www.languagepolicy.org/.

Internationaler Deutschlehrerverband (IDV) Contribution

IDV is an organization of 90 national German teachers' organizations like AATG in over 70 countries. Your contribution supports the work of this international umbrella organization. Visit their web site at www.idvnetz.org.
