| Zeitgeschichtliches Archiv |
|
The Zeitgeschichtliches Archiv is one of the most important press archives in Germany. It owns a collection of systematically registered German-language media articles, which were assembled between 1946 and 1992. In more than 20,000 files there are about four million articles taken from many daily newspapers and periodicals from former East and West Germany, Austria and Switzerland. A series of very old newspapers dating from the post-war-period are of special interest. Topics covered include art and culture of the former German Democratic Republic, former West Germany, East and West Berlin, Western and Eastern Europe, USA and Canada, Latin and Central America, Africa, Asia, Australia and international organizations. There is also a huge amount of documents with data and facts dealing with scientific, social, religious and artistic life. Moreover different donations of private collections enrich permanently our collection. The coverage of the collection is unique and could be of great interest for the study of the German language as well as for university research work in history, German and Central European studies and humanities. Please look at www.zeitgeschichte.de. There are two possibilities for research: first you search in the databank. If you don’t find anything you can fill a form und we search for you. |
