Core Program in New York (July 11 - August 15, 2008), followed by internships in Berlin (August 23 - November 25, 2008) With Humanity in Action (HIA), 30 students from the USA and five European countries will explore how Americans understand, practice, and manage diversity. Topics of the core program in New York include: The legal, cultural, economic, religious and political resources available to those who advocate a more tolerant, inclusive and participatory society, contemporary debates over race, immigration, religion, and the role of public and private sectors in addressing social problems. The Berlin Internships open a window of transatlantic comparison and combine hand-on workplace experience in human and minority right organizations with a weekly lecture series. German language skills are a plus, but not a must. Application deadline: Feb 7, 2008 More information is available at www.humanityinaction.org |
