As the official marketing organization of the German agricultural industry, CMA's legal responsibility is to promote the marketing of agricultural products, and the foods and beverages derived from them, at home and abroad. CMA does not market any product itself and has no commercial goal of its own, but rather, represents the export interest of the individual branches of the German agricultural, food and beverage industries. These include: live stock, meat, poultry, eggs, fruits, vegetables, potatoes and grains, seeds and seedlings, horticultural products, hops, and malt as well as processed products from the food industry such as: dairy and meat products, cereal products, fruit and vegetable products, confectionery, dietary foods, delicacies, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. The German agricultural, food and beverage industries supply the largest and one of the most demanding consumer markets in Europe with high-quality products. Tough competition and strict German food laws guarantee the dependability and high quality of these products. Today, the Federal Republic of Germany is one of the four largest agricultural exporting nations of the world and the agricultural industry is Germany's fifth largest export branch. More than 3,000 German exporting companies offer over 1,000 different food and beverage items.
The German Language Opportunities Web site (GLOW) is a web-based initiative to create an interactive database and ongoing census of professionals in the fields of German. Its purpose is to promote communication among (and within) AATG chapters and to present a united front to the public. It offers an opportunity to individuals who are seeking employment to advertise themselves to the public. Join your colleagues who've already registered by logging on to the site! As soon as a significant number of AATG List Subscribers have registered, the AATG (national) office can begin advertising GLOW to the public more actively. Please help promote the project. GLOW is a grass-roots project of volunteers. If you help spread the word about the free service to all German professionals, prospective students and the public, not only will you be helping yourself but also the profession. If you have questions or want to contact Dr. Cecilia Cloughly, her email address is: Cecilia@Cloughly.net
