  • Subscription to one of our journals: The German Quarterly or Die Unterrichtspraxis/Teaching German.
    The German Quarterly
    serves as a forum for all sorts of scholarly debates—topical, ideological, methodological, theoretical, of both the established and the experimental variety, as well as debates on recent developments in the profession. You will also find covered all topics in German literature, culture and film from the Middle Ages to the present, as well as comparative and interdisciplinary articles that are relevant to the field of German.
    Die Unterrichtspraxis is a journal devoted to the improvement and expansion of German teaching in the United States. The UP publishes pedagogical articles, reports, teaching tips, news, discussions, book reviews, software and video reviews, current advertisements and other material of interest to teachers of German at all levels of instruction.

  • Receive discounted admission to the premier convention of the foreign language profession. Held in conjunction with ACTFL and other foreign language organizations, this convention is the only forum for teachers, administrators and students within the foreign language profession at any location, level or language to come together. The convention offers over 400 workshops, discussions, and presentations on professional issues and classroom strategies and 350 exhibits of the latest in materials and classroom technology.

National AATG members automatically are members of one of sixty-one local chapters that support a variety of meetings and projects (summer camps, in-service, immersion weekends, German language fairs, awards ceremonies). At their meetings, local chapters offer in-depth workshops and seminars on the latest topics of pedagogical significance. You may also present a workshop or seminar at the national annual meeting (held in conjunction with the ACTFL conference in November).
