AATG is always looking for teachers interested in volunteering for committee work, especially in materials development in many areas of special interest (e.g., Kinder- und Jugendliteratur, Teaching Austria, Teaching Switzerland and Liechtenstein, German for Professional Purposes, etc.). Please contact John Stark if you would like more information about getting involved in one or more of the external committees! stark (at) imsa.edu Alle lernen Deutsch - disseminates information about minorities in the teaching and learning of German, in the United States and German-speaking countries.
Annual Meeting Program Committee - solicits, selects, and schedules program sessions and workshops; consists of three people appointed by the president.
Community College Committee - focuses on issues specific to AATG members teaching at community colleges.
Task Force on Cultural Knowledge and Understanding - research, review, and publish past and present work in intercultural competence and cultural knowledge, with special emphasis on German.
Endowed Scholarship Fund Advisory Committee - develops and implements strategies for soliciting potential gifts from the AATG membership and others who support this effort.
German for Professional Purposes - focuses on the study of Wirtschaftsdeutsch and the integration of technology, especially engineering, and German in the US.
GOLDEN Project Board of Directors - advises the GOLDEN project in all its phases.

GROW (German Resources on the Web) - selects materials and maintains the resources section of the AATG Web site.
Honorary Members and Fellows Committee - nominates candidates for the association's honorary members and fellows.
Kinder- und Jugendliteratur Committee - supports the inclusion of this genre in the teaching and learning of German.
Kinder lernen Deutsch Steering Committee - promotes the teaching of German at the elementary and middle school level.
Nominations Committee - develops and presents a slate of candidates for all open positions on the Executive Council (except Treasurer); consists of at least 5 people, with 1 holdover from the previous year who serves as chair, and 4 members with appropriate regional and level representation.
Planned Giving Committee - solicits income for the both the Endowed Scholarship Fund and the Endowment 'Friends of AATG' through such methods as bequests or future property transfer.

Testing Commission - annually develops the National German Tests for High School Students.
