The Evergreen School, Seattle (Washington)
Evergreen offers an exciting educational experience developing independent problem-solving skills, compassion, sense of social responsibility, global understanding and thirst for knowledge. Our program surrounds students with a supportive community through these formative years to deliver confident, well-rounded individuals into the world. At Evergreen, we cater specifically to their needs with experiential learning approaches that teach students outside the boundaries of grade-level, memorization-based curriculum. World Languages are taught ages 3-4 to 13.

Fairview German Language School (Cincinnati, OH)
The pupils, parents, and staff of Fairview German Language School continue to maintain, expand, and improve our quality program, while meeting the increasing demands of state and local mandates. Fairview has been designated an Achieving School. Attempts to achieve state- and district-wide consistency in the implementation of new curricula, as well as ever-higher test score requirements, underscore the need for our German instruction to support and supplement the general elementary curriculum. The new Superintendent of Cincinnati Public Schools recently visited our school to acquaint himself with our unique and successful language and academic program.

Die Deutsche Sprachschule (Washington, DC)
The GLC (German Language Courses) at the German School Washington, DC had a great year as Center of Excellence. Last year we had four students that successfully passed the Deutsches Sprachdiplom level II and four students passed the level I exams. The Cultural Department of the German Embassy Washington, DC kindly invited students and parents to a wonderful luncheon. Thirty-three students participated in the AATG level 2-4 exams. We offered three workshops for our 26 experienced and wonderful teachers here at our school. Again this year over 330 students are enrolled in our German language program on Saturdays and Wednesdays. We had to offer a fourth course for native speakers since the enrollment was up to 78 "natives" ages 4-13. Surprisingly enough we also have a lot of high school age students. About 14 students will participate in the Deutsches Sprachdiplom this year. This summer we shared our new curriculum with other Language Schools from around the United States in order to assist them to develop their own suitable program. We will continue to answer all questions German teachers or administrator from other schools may have.
We would like to thank the AATG for their great work and support.

Countywide, parents may opt to enroll their children in this program as first graders. The German partial-immersion program gives students the opportunity to gain a command of the German language while being taught math, science, and health during the regular school day. Social studies, language arts, music, physical education, and art are taught in English.
